Deanna Osborne

I have always had a deep love of nature. As a child I spent much of my time in the Sierra, and I have been fortunate enough to live in the mountains for over 20 years. I grew up in the Bay Area, which was far too populated and concrete-filled for my liking, but it enabled me to attend San Jose State University, where I received my BFA in Drawing and Painting. After college, I started exhibiting paintings in various galleries in Northern California and taking commissions for pet portraits. When I became a mom, however, art took a back burner. Now that my kids are grown, I have started painting consistently again.

I am very attracted to the beauty of Plumas County, where the gorgeous valleys and mountains are a feast for the senses. I am fascinated by the subtle elements in a landscape that others might overlook. I try to pare down the landscape into its most important parts, so that the viewer can more readily react to the essence of the subject. It is my hope that after viewing my paintings, people might have more respect and appreciation for the environment.
